our business model
TLC operates several small businesses that serve a dual purpose.
One purpose is to provide jobs for clients who need job training so they can eventually work in free enterprise.
The second purpose is to provide revenue. Below are two of our businesses.
alhambra hotel
43 S. Macdonald Street
Mesa, AZ 85210
The Alhambra Hotel was built around 1895 and is on the registry of historic places.
The 44-room hotel is open to the public and isn't used to house TLC residents..
It is operated as a profitable TLC business and is managed by TLC staff.
The below photo of the Alhambra Hotel was taken in the early 1900s.

inconvenience store
36 S. Macdonald Street
Mesa, AZ 85210
TLC not only derives revenue from these small stores that are located on each property, the stores also offer employment and job training to residents who have few or no job skills. The inconvenience Store is so-named because in the early days it had very little merchandise to offer.
Today it has a wider range of merchandise including grooming basics, snacks, sodas and cereals and 12-Step merchandise.
Not only are the stores a convenience to the residents, the main store on Macdonald Street in Mesa is open the public.
