The photo at left shows some of the interior remodeling and retrofit sprinkler installation performed to meet fire safety requirements for TLC's 21,000 square foot facility at 20 S. Macdonald Street in Mesa. The project was begun last year in response to City of Mesa citations for fire safety violations and is projected to cost more than $500,000 when completed.

Picture at left shows one of several apartment walls that had to be opened to meet fire requirements for sleeping areas. Fire codes prohibit exiting from one sleeping area through another in event of a fire.
Sprinkler piping was retrofitted throughout the two-story structure, along with electrical wiring for a state-of-the art alarm system. Approximately 75% of the work on the project is being done by TLC Roofing & Remodeling, a state-licensed contracting company operated by TLC graduates and residents.
